Examination (Higher Section)

Examinations are usually held three times such as - First Term, Second Term and Third Term. Sometimes, five examinations are held such as - First Mid Term, First Term, Second Mid Term, Second Term and Third Term.

Promotion to higher class in secondary section is decided by taking into accounts a student’s perfomance in these examinations by adding 25% marks each from I & II Terms and 50% marks from III Term. Mark percentage from the Mid Term is to be decided by the school authority every year.

Minimum pass marks in each subject is 35% and over all aggregate is 40%. Failure in more than 2 subjects cannot be considered normally.

Pupils securing 75% and above in the total marks are declared to have passed in Distinction, 60% and above in First Division, 50% and above in Second Division and 40% and above in Third Division. Failing in one or two subjects with not less than 25% marks in each subject and 40% and above in total can be declared Simple Pass.

Any student who got less than 25% marks in aggregate, or who failed the same class more than once may be given Transfer Certificate.
